Don’t forget these important tax deadlines due September 15, 2026:

- Third quarter estimated tax payment due for self employed individuals and business owners who make quarterly estimated tax payments.

- Extended tax return deadline for Partnerships (Form 1065) and S Corporations (Form 1120-S) that filed an extension.

Now is a great time to review your books, make sure your records are up to date, and prepare for the September 15 deadline.

Last month, one of our CFO clients had their first-ever $100K+ month.🎉

As their business has grown, we’ve been working together to look at their numbers differently.

We’ve been using their financials to help make decisions around:

• Cash flow
• Profitability and margins
• Hiring and labor costs
• Pricing
• Budgeting
• Growth and future investments

Their first $100K+ month is a huge milestone, and we’re excited to celebrate it with them. But we’re not stopping there.

The goal isn’t just to hit $100K. It’s to use the numbers to figure out how to do it consistently, profitably, and strategically.

This is why I love what we do.

We don’t just look at the numbers after the fact.

We use them to help business owners make better decisions about where they’re going next.

If your business is growing and you’re ready to start using your numbers more strategically, let’s talk.

Growing a home improvement business takes more than keeping your books organized.

As your CFO, I help you understand your numbers, improve profitability, and make confident decisions that support long-term growth.

Here are five ways we make your business stronger:

1. We help you protect your cash flow.
Know what’s coming in, what’s going out, and how to avoid cash flow surprises before they happen.

2. We turn your financials into a decision-making tool.
Monthly reports aren’t just numbers—they’re insights that help you price jobs, control costs, and improve profitability.

3. We help you plan for growth.
Whether you’re hiring another crew, investing in equipment, or expanding your service area, we help you understand the financial impact before you make the move.

4. We help you stay lender and investor ready.
When opportunities arise, you’ll have organized financials and the confidence to move quickly.

5. We become your financial partner.
Instead of wondering if your business is healthy, you’ll have someone helping you understand your numbers and make strategic decisions every month.

If your contracting business is generating strong revenue but you’re still asking, “Where is all the money going?” it’s probably time for a CFO—not just a bookkeeper.

How do I qualify for a business loan?

Lenders typically look at your credit history, time in business, revenue, cash flow, and financial records to determine if you qualify.

How much can I borrow for my business?

The amount depends on your business’s income, cash flow, existing debt, creditworthiness, and the lender’s requirements.

What documents do I need to apply?

Most lenders will ask for:
- Financial statements
- Business tax returns
- Bank statements
- Profit and Loss Statement
- Balance Sheet
- Business plan (for some loans)

Having accurate, up to date financial records can make the application process much smoother and improve your chances of approval.

Thinking about applying for a business loan? Let us help you get your books organized and your financial reports lender ready.

Two businesses can earn the same revenue and have completely different financial outcomes.

That’s because revenue alone doesn’t determine the financial health of a business. Cash flow does.

Cash-rich business:
- Knows its numbers
- Plans ahead
- Monitors cash flow
- Makes data driven decisions

Cash-poor business:
- Delays important decisions
- Doesn’t review financial reports
- Falls behind on bookkeeping
- Doesn’t know where the money is going

Pricing isn't just about winning the job—it's about building a sustainable business.

One of the biggest mistakes we see home improvement contractors make is setting prices based only on materials and labor. But your pricing also needs to cover the costs of running your business every day.

Things like:
• Insurance
• Software subscriptions
• Vehicle expenses
• Office costs
• Marketing
• Bookkeeping
• Taxes
• And, yes... a profit.

If your prices don't account for these expenses, you may stay busy but still struggle to grow your business.

The goal isn't to be the cheapest. The goal is to charge enough to deliver quality work, operate with confidence, and build a business that's profitable for the long term.

When was the last time you reviewed your pricing?

Most business owners didn't start their company because they love looking at financial reports.

They started it to build something meaningful.

But here's the truth: your numbers tell the story of your business. They reveal what's working, what's costing you money, and whether you're actually making a profit.

As your CFO, my job isn't just to organize your financials—it's to help you understand them so you can make confident business decisions.

When you know your numbers, you can:
✔️ Price your services with confidence.
✔️ Improve cash flow.
✔️ Increase profitability.
✔️ Plan for growth without the guesswork.

You don't have to fear your financials. You just need someone who can turn them into actionable insights.

If you're ready for more than basic bookkeeping and want a financial partner who helps you make smarter business decisions, let's talk.

Don't focus on looking successful. Instead, focus on building a financially healthy business.

Here's how:

- Track your expenses from day one
- Price for profit, not just to win clients
- Track your cash flow every month
- Separate your personal and business finances
- Don't wait until tax season to organize your books

What's one piece of advice you'd give someone starting a business today?
