Hello friends and family I am raising money for a student I have known and worked with for two years. Due to confidentiality, we will not be mentioning his name for protection and safety measures. This student is currently a senior in high school and has plans to enlist in the United States Navy after graduation. Recently, this student and family have lost their housing due to financial hardships. Unfortuntely, this students family is not supportive of him continuing school and moving forward with the Navy. He was told to leave school to begin working to support their family. This is not what the student wants for his life and future and is working to break generational curses within his family and upbringing. He is not interested in pursing a GED, as a diploma from his home school is extremely important to him and holds a lot of value. My wife and I have taken in this young man to support him while he is in school, with enlisting in the Navy, and additional goals he is pursing.
Taking care of a teenager is not a cheap expense, especially with the cost of living being so high. When he left his home he could not bring much. He only has a handful of clothes and one pair of shoes. We have started this GoFundMe account with the sole purpose of all the proceeds going to supporting him while he is in our home. All proceeds will go to clothing, shoes, hygiene products, and any other basic needs in the future. Anything will help.
