Q: The seller of our new home stated that there were no known water/ flooding issues on the seller's sale disclosure, Two weeks after we moved into the home the side yard the back yard are flooded with water about 1 to 2 feet deep. The sump pump runs every `14 seconds to keep the water out the basement. When we contacted the seller, they refused to acknowledge it. Do we have any rights against the seller?

David's Answer: A Seller's failure to disclose the true condition of a home is among the leading causes for legal disputes after a real estate closing. If your seller endorsed disclosure documents stating that there were no known problems with the basement , water, or flooding, then you may have a case against your seller for damages.
