Some days, I look around my house and feel completely stressed out by how messy it gets so fast. LIKE HOW?!
There are toys in the living room, dishes on the counter, blankets on the floor, and evidence of two little boys in just about every room. And if I’m being honest, there are moments when I wish it looked more like the photos. The perfectly made beds. The spotless counters. Everything in its place.
But then I remind myself that:
- The toys scattered across the floor mean my boys feel safe and at home here.
- The unmade beds mean we woke up healthy and comfortable.
- The fingerprints, the clutter, the noise, and the chaos are all signs of a home that is being lived in and loved.
As a Realtor, I help people prepare their homes to look picture perfect when it’s time to sell. But the rest of the time?
I hope you’re living in it. Use the dining room table. Let the kids make a mess. Host the family gathering. Build the blanket fort. Fill the rooms with memories.
Because one day, the mess will be gone. And when that day comes, I don’t think we’ll wish our homes had looked more perfect. I think we’ll wish we had soaked up just a little more of the life happening inside them.
A house can be beautiful, but a home filled with memories is priceless.
Love,
Your Realtor
