In today’s insurance environment, consumers are increasingly focused on price—and understandably so. However, there’s a growing trend that deserves a closer look: frequent carrier switching without evaluating long-term implications.

While remarketing policies can uncover savings, consistently moving from one carrier to another may unintentionally eliminate access to valuable longevity-based benefits.

For example, certain carriers offer structured incentives tied to policy tenure. One notable case involves youthful drivers—traditionally one of the largest premium increases a household will face.

Some carriers provide a loyalty-based benefit where, after maintaining a policy for a specified period (often 1 year on enhanced packages or up to 5 years on standard tiers), the addition of a first youthful driver can result in a reduced premium rather than an increase.

This type of benefit fundamentally changes the financial impact of a major life event—but only if the client has maintained continuity with that carrier.

Frequent switching resets eligibility timelines and can prevent clients from ever realizing these advantages.
