🚜 Tennessee Farm Update 🐄

Washington just opened a 90-day extra quota of imported lean beef trimmings starting Sept. 1 to cheapen grocery hamburger. Watch the cull-cow side if you run cattle; don’t bank on a big fed-cattle rally. The good news: 2026 ARC/PLC reference prices are up 10–21% and more base acres are in play — call FSA this week and lock your elections. Farm Bill is still stuck in the Senate, so don’t wait on new programs that aren’t signed yet. 🛑

Nashville’s more useful right now. TAEP cost-share applications run Oct. 1–7 (hay, livestock, row crop, poultry, diversification). Agricultural Enterprise Fund for value-added/processing closes Oct. 10. New TN-raised meat labeling is worth a look if you sell direct. Hemp/THCA is already banned here — if that was extra income, keep pivoting. Foreign-land rules got tighter on land, minerals, and water, so get a clean title review before you sell or partner. 📝🌾

Do this today: FSA on 2026 acres, mark those October deadlines, pad fertilizer and diesel budgets, and keep harvest records tight. Cows and combines don’t wait on Congress. ☕🚜

Money tip while you’re at it: farm income jumps around, so treat government payments and a good crop year like bonus money. Park some in an emergency fund first, then max any retirement match if you’ve got off-farm work or establish your own accounts. Talk with a licensed financial professional, we know a guy 🤔 — insurance, equipment debt, and taxes all pull from the same pot. A short sit-down now beats a scramble at tax time.

🇺🇸Small businesses run America.🇺🇸

The Fortune 500 just takes the credit. 😏

36.2 million small businesses.

99.9% of all U.S. companies.

62.3 million people on the payroll.

Nearly half the private workforce and about 43.5% of GDP.

Not a side hustle. The engine. 🇺🇸

Tennessee? Over 741,000 of them.

99.5% of the state’s businesses.

1.2 million employees. That’s Main Street, not a press release.

Big companies have entire departments for benefits.

Small businesses have the owner doing payroll at 11 p.m. after closing. ☕📊

That’s the gap. Affordable benefits, simple tools, and accounts that help a business grow and let people retire the way they actually want to. Not “someday.” On their terms.

Good people notice. They stay. They recruit their friends.

Turnover is expensive. Loyalty is cheaper.

We focus on those pieces — benefits, tools, and accounts — so small businesses can compete for talent without becoming a Fortune 500 overnight.

America doesn’t work without small business.

Neither does the next generation of employees. 💼🔥

🐪 Hump Day Market Update!🐫

Middle-America retirement reality check: the Fear Index eased a hair to 120.7 because inflation cooled, yet Social Security insolvency, healthcare sticker shock, and “will my nest egg last?” still top the worry list. Workplace savers are hitting record total contribution rates around 14%, but the median is still stuck near 10% — short of the 15% most experts say you need. Half of workers say everyday bills are forcing them to cut or pause savings deposits. Action step: if your employer offers a match, grab every free dollar first. Then bump your contribution by 1% this month (you’ll barely notice) and check whether a Roth option makes sense if you’re in a lower tax bracket now. Keep the emergency fund sacred so you never raid the retirement account. 💪

Policy update that actually hits your wallet: the Working Families Tax Cuts / One Big Beautiful Bill locked in no tax on tips, overtime, and Social Security benefits for many seniors, plus bigger standard deductions, an enhanced Child Tax Credit, and brand-new Trump Accounts that can receive up to $5,000 a year (with possible employer or government seed money). Higher-earners now must run age-50+ catch-up contributions as Roth. What to do: open or contribute to a Trump Account for any kids under 18 if you can swing it, claim every new deduction you’re eligible for on the next return, and if you’re over 50, confirm your catch-ups are set up correctly so you don’t leave tax-free growth on the table. 🏛️💰

Mortgage crystal ball just got less friendly: Fannie Mae raised its forecast — 30-year fixed rates are expected to average about 6.5% for 2026 and hover 6.7–6.8% into 2027. Home sales stay sluggish and some markets may see mild price softness, but elevated rates aren’t vanishing soon. Decision time: if you’re buying and the payment already fits your budget, lock a rate now rather than gambling on a big drop that may not arrive. If you’re sitting on a sub-4% mortgage, refinance only if the break-even math works after closing costs. Shop three lenders, compare APR not just rate, and keep 3–6 months of payments in cash so a rate surprise doesn’t wreck your cash flow. 🏡📉

Global chaos still leaks into your 401(k): Gaza ceasefire talks keep stalling with ongoing strikes, Russia-Ukraine grinds on with Ukrainian drones hitting Russian oil infrastructure, China keeps gray-zone pressure on Taiwan, and the U.S.-Iran conflict has oil prices elevated near $94. That mix feeds inflation risk and market swings. Practical move: stay diversified, avoid panic-selling on the next headline, and rebalance once a year so you’re not overweight - whatever just had a good (or bad) week. Geopolitics will keep making noise; your job is to keep funding the future while the noise happens. 🌍😅

Looking at this generational timeline is like watching history’s most expensive relay race 🏃‍♂️💨.

The Baby Boomers (1946–64) are currently sitting on roughly $93 trillion in assets, and over the next couple of decades somewhere between $36 trillion and well over $100 trillion is expected to change hands in the termed “Great Wealth Transfer.” Yes, that’s a real number and no, most of us will not be cashing a check! The average inheriting household is projected to see around $515,000… if they’re lucky enough to inherit anything at all. Spoiler: make sure you take care of your family, mend fences, and take it serious!

The financial impact on today’s society is both fascinating and slightly jaded. Gen X is lined up for the first big wave, Millennials will eventually collect the largest total haul, and a surprising number of younger folks will inherit nothing. Only a fraction of the transferred wealth is expected to actually get spent into the broader economy; most of it will be saved by households who take money management serious.

That’s why having a will or (better yet) a properly funded trust isn’t just “responsible adulting” — it’s the difference between your hard-earned assets going exactly where you intend versus getting stuck in probate, fought over by relatives, or partially vaporized by taxes and fees. A good plan lets you control the timeline, protect what you’ve built, and keep the family drama to a minimum. Leaving it to the state’s default rules is basically letting a stranger decide who gets Grandma’s house and the good china.

So whether you’re a Boomer ready to pass the baton or a Gen X/Millennial hoping the baton actually reaches you, take a few hours this year to put the paperwork in order. Future you (and your beneficiaries) will thank present you — preferably with less sarcasm than this post. 😉📄

✍️ Tuesday Market News ☀️

🇺🇸 Middle America’s finally getting a few wins in the fine print of that One Big Beautiful Bill: permanent lower tax brackets, a bumped-up standard deduction, a temporary boost to the child tax credit, and no federal tax on tips or overtime for a few years — because apparently Washington decided working folks deserve to keep a little more of what they actually earn for once. 👏 Higher SALT (State and Local Tax) caps help too if you’re in a high-tax state. Not a miracle, but at least the tax man isn’t taking quite as big a victory lap this time.

Meanwhile the world stage is still putting on its longest-running tragicomedy. The U.S.-Iran “war that was supposed to be over by now” has the MOU in the rearview, economic isolation ramping up, and oil prices reminding everyone that peace talks and pump prices rarely share a calendar. Israel and Hamas are still arguing over who disarms first while strikes and “ceasefire violations” keep the body count climbing. And Russia-Ukraine? Day 1,644 and counting—drones, missiles, and Putin eyeing more private assets like it’s Black Friday in Moscow. 🌍🔥

If you’re feeling the squeeze (and who isn’t?), the classic moves still work better than hoping Congress suddenly discovers common sense: build that emergency fund like your next paycheck depends on it, lock in fixed-rate options where you can, review life insurance and retirement contributions so the market chaos doesn’t own you, and keep debt on a short leash. Diversify a little, ignore the daily panic scrolls, and remember — volatility is just another word for “opportunity for the patient.”

Stay sharp out there, folks. The circus isn’t ending anytime soon, but your household budget doesn’t have to buy a front-row seat. 💪💰

🌍Monday Market Mayhem: Wars, Wobbles & Why Your Wallet Still Wins 🌍

☀️Well GOOD MORNING - the stock market finished a week feeling like it mainlined espresso and bad news. S&P500 and Nasdaq both took their first weekly “L” in a month, futures are giving us the side-eye this morning, and oil is sliding while Treasury Secretary Bessent gets ready to drop what he’s calling an “economic D-Day” on Iran.

🇺🇸 Apparently the White House decided “maximum pressure” needed a sequel. Meanwhile Ukraine and Russia are still grinding away on day 1,643 of the world’s longest, most expensive staring contest, and mortgage rates are hanging around the mid-6% neighborhood like that one relative who never leaves the holidays. Chaos? Sure. But also… opportunity in a trench coat!

🇮🇷 Let’s talk about the Middle East real quick. Israel, Iran, the U.S. — Oil prices are dancing, bond yields are flexing like they just discovered protein powder, and markets are acting like a toddler who missed nap time.

💤 BUT here’s the sarcastic silver lining: every time the world acts like a reality show, patient investors who keep buying the dips (and the quality companies behind them) quietly stack gains while the drama queens panic-sell. History’s greatest wealth builders weren’t the ones refreshing headlines every five minutes—they were the ones who treated volatility like a clearance sale.

🏡 Mortgage rates hovering near 6.7%? Yeah, it’s not 2021 fairy-tale territory, but it’s also not the end of the homeownership dream. Rates move. Policies shift. The Fed watches data like a hawk with a calculator. The smart play isn’t waiting for perfection—it’s making sure your personal balance sheet is strong enough that when the right house (or refinance window) shows up, you’re ready. Same goes for your retirement accounts, emergency fund, and that life policy you keep meaning to update. The global economy can throw tantrums. Your household doesn’t have to join the tantrum.

😄At the end of the day, the White House can announce tariffs, sanctions, and “greatest financial offensives ever,” and foreign leaders can fire off statements that make cable news lose its mind. None of that changes the most powerful economic force on the planet: an American family that lives below its means, invests consistently, protects what matters, and refuses to let the 24-hour news cycle set its financial mood. So grab your coffee, ignore the doomsday chorus, and keep stacking those quiet wins. The world will keep being dramatic. Your future self will thank you for staying focused. 💪

☀️Friday Update Anyone?🤞

📉 Wall Street spent Thursday remembering geopolitics and bad earnings can happen at the same time. The Dow dropped more than 700 points, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq both finished lower, and Walmart’s sales miss showed even the biggest retailer can’t outrun higher gas prices. Treasury Secretary Bessent is promising to buy even more of our own long-term debt to calm the bond market.

🛢️ The White House is now openly planning “economic warfare” to isolate Iran 🇮🇷 while oil sits near $93 a barrel thanks to the latest Hormuz disruption. Talks keep collapsing faster than a ceasefire announcement. 🇮🇱 In Gaza, Israel and Hamas are still arguing over who has to disarm first, with fresh Israeli strikes on Hamas commanders and a U.S.-backed peace board looks more like a referee at a food fight. 💥 Russia just launched another massive drone-and-missile barrage on Kyiv while Ukraine keeps hitting Russian refineries, and drones even wandered into Romanian and Moldovan airspace.
🇹🇼 Taiwan is watching extra Chinese ships and aircraft circle while proposing a record $35 billion defense budget packed with drones and missiles.

Markets hate this kind of uncertainty right up until they remember they have short memories and a Friday to finish.

In a world where presidents treat oil tankers like bargaining chips and algorithms panic over grocery sales, the only thing you can actually control is whether your own money is working harder than the headlines. Compound interest doesn’t care about ceasefires, and neither should your retirement plan. 💪

💋Feelings & Emotions💥

If you don’t know how it FEELS to save money…you’ll never do it 🤷

It takes DISCIPLINE and an understood, clear, common sense game plan to properly and effectively save - removing the mission creep of emotions 🥷

It’s not hard! Start small…stay consistent…time is your friend!
