Great news for mortgage borrowers! Draper and Kramer Mortgage Corp. is now offering higher limits on several conforming loan programs! Conforming loans are desirable because they are typically easier to qualify for and may offer lower rates and fees than non-conforming (aka jumbo) loans.

Increased limits for all conforming loan programs and for high-balance and government loans are expected to be announced in the coming months, so watch for more news from us.

Mortgage agency Fannie Mae has announced a reduced down payment minimum of 5% for many of its loan options for owner-occupied multi-family homes. This will make homeownership more accessible for buyers who wish to purchase a multi-unit residence and offset their costs with rental income.

The change will take effect on the weekend of November 18, 2023 for standard purchase, HomeReady, HomeStyle Renovation and limited cash-out refinances of owner-occupied 2-, 3- and 4-unit residences. The change will not affect high-balance loans and loans that are manually underwritten.
