Did you recently buy a home and then get hit with a bill from the county that you weren’t expecting? 🤔 It might be a Supplemental Property Tax Bill!
🏡 What is a Supplemental Tax Bill?
When you purchase a home, the county reassesses the property based on the new purchase price. If that value is higher than the previous assessed value, you’ll receive a supplemental tax bill for the difference.
📬 How is it different from your regular property taxes?
✅ Your regular property taxes are typically included in your monthly mortgage payment if you have an impound account.
⚠️ Supplemental tax bills are separate and are usually mailed directly to the homeowner.
💡 Important: Your mortgage servicer generally does NOT automatically pay supplemental tax bills from your impound account, so it’s important to watch your mail and pay attention to any notices from the county.
The good news? Supplemental tax bills are typically a one-time adjustment related to your purchase, and once everything catches up, your regular property tax payments continue through your impound account as normal.

And for the Veterans still with us, there are some AMAZING benefits available — including one of the best mortgage programs out there… the VA Home Loan! 🏡
❌ MYTH #1: Veterans can only use their VA loan once.
✅ FACT: Eligible Veterans can use their VA benefit multiple times throughout their lifetime as long as entitlement is available.
