Northeast Community Credit Union NCCU is proud to be a community credit union serving the individuals of Carter, Washington, Johnson, Unicoi and Sullivan counties.

Northeast Community Credit Union (formerly Elizabethton Teachers Credit Union) was chartered in 1952 by a group of nine visionaries from the Elizabethton School System. Anyone that lives, works, worships, or attends school in our area may join the credit union with a $5 initial deposit into a share account. This account will open the door to all services offered by Northeast Community Credit Union

Northeast Community Credit Union does not allow or accept any individual, organization or group to post any confidential or sensitive information on any social media site. Chelsey Smith, kindergarten teacher at Cloudland Elementary School, is the latest Northeast Community Credit Union Helping Teachers Teach grant winner.

Smith applied for the grant to purchase new tables for her kindergarten classroom. The tables currently in her classroom are too large for the young students.

“Students cannot sit comfortably at their tables to do their work,” she said. “New classroom tables can greatly enrich the learning experience in a kindergarten classroom.”

Northeast Community Credit Union awards $300 every month to a classroom to be utilized for classroom needs, classroom activities, and academic enrichment. Helping Teachers Teach is open to teachers within Carter, Johnson, Unicoi, Sullivan and Washington counties who are members of Northeast Community Credit Union. Area teachers may become members online or at any NCCU location and can download the grant application on the credit union’s website: www.BeMyCU.org.
