šŸš© REALTORS: If a lender tells your VA-eligible client they need to switch to an FHA loan, HOLD UP! That could be a major red flag!
VA loans are one of the most incredible mortgage benefits our veterans have EARNED, and they shouldn't lose out on that benefit simply because a lender can't get the loan done!
Here's what could really be happening:
āœ… The lender has company overlays that prevent them from doing a VA manual underwrite.
āœ… Their company allows lower credit scores on FHA loans than they do on VA loans.
āœ… They may not fully understand just how flexible VA loan guidelines actually are!
VA loans offer some of the most flexible qualifying guidelines in the mortgage industry. While FHA may be the right fit in certain situations, switching a veteran away from their VA benefit should NEVER be about a lender's limitations.
