I love agriculture because it has brought so many amazing people into my life who share the same dedication, passion, and respect for the land. 🌱

Last month the Alma branch volunteered at the Gratiot County Farm Bureau’s Project RED (Rural Education Day). This event brought together fourth graders from throughout the county for a hands-on look at the agricultural industry. Students rotated through 10 interactive stations, learning about safety, crops, goats, and planting seeds! 🌱

Jennifer Whitford, a VP of Lending at our Alma branch, said “All attendees received snacks and participated in agricultural trivia at the GreenStone station. It was a great day for all involved!” 💚🪴

We've been asking GreenStone team members to share what agriculture means to them. 🐝 Here's what Ashley Sholes, associate financial services officer, had to say:

"Agriculture means a lot to me as I love being able to grow and harvest some of our own food. My husband and I have a hobby farm at home with layer hens and a garden that we plant and harvest yearly. This year we are starting honeybees, which has been a passion and dream of my husband’s since he was a kid. My job also revolves around our agricultural community, not only for the livelihood of my family, but all our customers as well. I am blessed to have these opportunities and experiences." 💚
