For the first time in three years, the Federal Reserve raised the federal funds rate by 0.25%, bringing it to a range of 3.75% - 4.00%. The Fed's primary focus right now is combatting inflation, currently sitting at 3.7%, and bringing it down to their 2% target. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh did say that the American economy seems to be strengthening but did not provide any insight on future rate moves and left it up to future reports.
