Gelly said it better than I ever could, and I am genuinely grateful she took the time to share her thoughts on Life Beneath the Suit. 🙏

When someone tells you that integrity and vulnerability together create a kind of trust that no credential can manufacture, you feel that in a way that stays with you. That is exactly what this book is about, and hearing it reflected back means everything.

Thank you, dear. You know you family, and I appreciate this.

For most of my life, people saw the suit. The guy who looked like he had it all figured out. And I let them, because it was easier than showing what was underneath.

So I wrote a book about it.

And the hardest part was letting people know what a wreck I was. But if that story reaches one person carrying something heavy behind a polished exterior, then every word was worth it.

Life Beneath the Suit is available now at ianimpacts.com/book 📖

Every morning, before anything else, I come back to two questions.

What am I grateful for?
And can I make a difference in at least one person's life today?

Some days, the answer to both of them is as simple as holding a door open for a stranger at the supermarket. And watching that person react like they have not seen that kind of thing in a while.

That is the world we are living in. Small gestures have become remarkable ones, and I think that says something important about the work we all need to be doing on ourselves and for each other.

I do not always get it right, I am not always at my best, but the commitment to keep trying, to keep showing up with some level of intention, that is the whole thing for me.

What is the first question you ask yourself when you wake up? 🌅

Three days. 3️⃣

That's how close we are.

This Tuesday at noon, we are going live for The Impact Hour. The story behind Life Beneath the Suit, the season that almost broke me, the lessons it left me, and a live Q&A where nothing is off the table.

If you've been meaning to register and haven't, this is your moment. It's free, it's one hour over lunch, and if you can't make it live, register anyway, because everyone who signs up gets the recording. All I ask is that you come with a question and with an open mind.

For years, people saw the suit. Almost nobody saw what was underneath it.

That is what Life Beneath the Suit is about, and next Tuesday, August 18, I am talking about it live. The Impact Hour is one free hour over lunch where I share the story behind the book, the chapters that changed me, and a live Q&A where you can ask me anything.

Guiding the conversation is my dear friend, Ron Joelson, Wealth Management Advisor and former CIO at Northwestern Mutual.

When someone who spent a career measuring wealth agrees to spend an hour on the kind money cannot measure, that tells you something.

The hardest part of writing my book wasn't the writing, it was the exposing.

For months, the same questions have followed me everywhere. At events, in messages, over coffee.

Why write this book now?
What was the hardest chapter? And my favorite: would anyone actually read this?

So I answered all three. Swipe right to check them out.

But here's our ask: We really want to answer your questions. On Tuesday, August 18 at 12 PM EST, we are going live for The Impact Hour, one free hour on the story behind Life Beneath the Suit, the lessons that almost broke me before they built me, and a live Q&A where you can ask me anything. And I do mean anything.

There is a difference between values and principles that I think about a lot.

You and I can have different values and still get along just fine. We see certain things differently, we hold different things close, and we find a way to move together anyway. But when the principles are different? That is usually where things start to break down, and there is nothing wrong or right about it.

It is just different.

What keeps me grounded is not that I have all the answers. It is that the why has stayed consistent, and when the why is real, it does not expire. 🔥

What is the principle you keep coming back to, no matter how much changes around you?

Grateful to have joined Amy Rutledge and Tonya Francisco on WGN9's Daytime Chicago to talk about Life Beneath The Suit.

We spent our time together on the part of success that does not usually make it into the introduction. The titles look clean from the outside, but underneath them are the quiet battles, the broken moments, and the redemptive choices that actually shape a person. That is the conversation I hoped to have, and they made room for all of it.

Thank you to the entire Daytime Chicago team for the invitation and for the care you brought to the conversation.

That's what my book, Life Beneath the Suit, is about, and on Tuesday, August 18, I'm finally talking about it live. I'm calling it The Impact Hour: one free hour, over lunch, where I'll share the story behind the book, the chapters that changed me, and a live Q&A where you can ask me anything.

Guiding the conversation is someone I deeply respect, Ron Joelson, Wealth Management Advisor and former CIO at Northwestern Mutual. When a man who spent his career measuring wealth agrees to spend an hour talking about the kind money can't measure, that tells you something about this conversation.
