Do your research before bonding John Dean. He cut off his ankle monitor after we loaned him $100,000 to get out and thought he could get away.
On November 17, 2025, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals Service, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the Kettering Police Department located and arrested John Dean in the 500 block of Wilmington Avenue. Dean was taken into custody on an active warrant issued by the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.
Dean’s warrant stemmed from his failure to comply with court-ordered bond conditions in Case No. 2025 CR 01702. On November 13, 2025, the Court ordered the warrant after determining Dean violated the terms of his release. At the time the warrant was issued, Dean had been charged:
• Tampering With Evidence (F3)
• Having Weapons Under Disability (prior offense of violence) (F3)
• Failure to Comply With the Order or Signal of a Police Officer (serious physical harm/substantial risk) (F3)
• Discharge of a Firearm On or Near Prohibited Premises (serious physical harm) (F3)
These charges were incurred while Dean was already out on bond for a prior felony case (Case No. 2024 CR 03640). In that case, on October 31, 2025, Dean had also pleaded guilty in that case to:
• Obstructing Official Business (F5)
• Having Weapons Under Disability (F3)
Dean had been permitted to remain out on bond pending sentencing, which had been scheduled for January 26, 2026.
In addition to the existing charges, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office will be presenting further charges related to incidents occurring while attempting to apprehend Dean on two separate dates November 13, 2025, and November 17, 2025. These include:
• Failure to Comply
• Escape
• Felonious Assault on a Peace Officer
• Aggravated Possession of Drugs
• Felony Obstructing Official Business
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to ensuring violent offenders are held accountable and to safeguarding the citizens of our community.
