Update: The SOS meeting for tonight has been cancelled due to the election. We want to allow every opportunity to vote and attend election events as they see fit. We will keep you updated on a new date when we can schedule it!

Domestic violence in the LGBTQ community is very and very dangerous. We can't continue to be silent. If you or someone you know is currently or has been a survivor of domestic abuse, please reach out to us. The emotional scars remain long after the physical ones heal, but in some instances, as in this heartbreaking case, the physical ones are permanent.

Following the murder of Almonte at the hands of his partner, Broadway performer Marcus Bellamy, we must confront same-sex domestic violence.

We would like to say a HUGE congratulations to our co-founder, Burke Burnett for being one of this year's Grand Marshall's for the Dallas Gay Pride festivities. We are so proud of Burke and his amazingly selfless spirit and his commitment to not only this organization but his community, his husband and his two beautiful baby boys. CONGRATS Burke! You deserve it!!

Abuse comes in many forms. If you or someone you know is in an unhealthy situation, reach out to us. Our community can survive only if we work together to help each other overcome and not succumb.

Just because it's not physical, doesn't mean it's not abuse.

Tonight's meeting is dedicated to our brothers and sisters in Orlando. Violence anywhere is violence everywhere. We as survivors stand with the men and women who lives have been irrevocably changed. While it may not seem like it today, it gets better. If you or someone you know has been affected by violence and need support from people who understand, please come tonight. The events of Orlando have stirred up so many emotions in our community and If you need to be in the presence of friends you are welcome. We Hope to see you there.

Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of lives lost too early in the tragedy in Orlando. We are with every one of the victim's friends and family, and with the survivors who begin the journey to healing. Violence anywhere is violence everywhere, and what happens to one of us happens to all of us. We are with you, Orlando.
