I’ve been in mortgages for 14 years. Purchases, refinances, first-time buyers, jumbo files, last-minute curveballs — I’ve seen it all, and I’m still here because I like getting people to the finish line.
Off the clock I’m a wife, mom to a 6-year-old, and an avid equestrian. Horses and kids both teach you patience, timing, and how to stay calm when the plan changes. That carries over to every file I touch.

Think of new-home construction like a factory making houses.
In August that factory started a few fewer homes than in July (down 2.6%) and took in slightly fewer new orders (permits down 2.7%). Economists had hoped for a small bounce, so the numbers came in softer.
The good news? Regular single-family houses actually jumped 7.6%. The dip was mostly apartments and condos. Builders are still breaking ground on the kind of homes most buyers want — they’re just being more selective while rates stay high.
Bottom line: new supply isn’t flooding the market, which helps keep inventory from getting sloppy. For buyers who are ready, that can mean less competition and more negotiating room on the homes that are coming.
