If you’ve ever thought that you may not have enough life insurance, you’re not alone. According to the 2025 Insurance Barometer Study Report, 25 million Americans feel that they are underinsured, while 74 million Americans don’t have any life insurance at all.

So, what stops us from getting the coverage we know we need? Cost, or more accurately, perceived cost. Historically, nearly three-quarters of Americans overestimate the cost of a basic term life insurance policy. It’s worth noting that respondents, 35 and under, who said they were healthy overestimated the price of life insurance 7-10x the actual cost.

The truth is the right life insurance for your needs might be more affordable than you think. Learn more about life insurance and what options are available to you at countryfinancial.com/life.

Money conflicts are cited as one of the most stressful conflicts for couples. To help remove some of that burden, we're sharing our top marriage finance tips to get you started as you plan your new life.
✅ Budget together
Setting up a budget is the first step to managing money and getting on the same page as a married couple. Here are some questions to start with:
• Are you combining your finances?
• How much debt do the two of you have? How are you paying it off?
• How much can you save each month for rainy days and big purchases?
• Who pays for what and who handles the bills?
✅Consider life insurance
You can’t plan for everything in life, so talk about the tough stuff now. If something happens to you, you want to make sure your spouse can pay the bills.
✅Protect your valuables
Now that you’re rocking new bling on those ring fingers, did you know you can cover them on your home insurance policy?
✅Ask about liability insurance
Your new combined net worth may exceed what’s covered by your home and auto insurance policies.
✅Find a financial advisor
Sitting down with a professional to discuss your financial goals will help you consider long-term plans for your life together.
The sooner you start managing your money in your marriage, the better chance you have of reaching your goals.

Take a moment this National Safety Month to ensure you’re doing everything you can to stay safe while working on your farm. Here are a few quick tips:

◾ Get plenty of rest and take frequent breaks. Keep snacks and fluids on hand to keep your energy levels up and don’t push yourself past healthy limits! Accidents are more likely once fatigue sets in.

◾Tell your family and employees where and when you’re working. Be sure to also carry a cell phone or walkie-talkie in case you need help.

◾ Train yourself and your employees on how to safely handle chemicals and how to respond to an emergency.

With wildfire season upon us, we wanted to pass along some important tips to make sure you, your family and your belongings are safe in the event of a wildfire. Here are our top 10 tips to keep you safe and protected.

1. Create a defensible space around your home. That means removing any dead or dying weeds, leaves, cones, bark and shrubs planted under trees. Prune all your branches that overhang roofs, cut down smaller trees and remove any dead vegetation from your property. If you’re able, install about 5 feet of noncombustible material (gravel, pavers, brick, etc.) around your home’s foundation.

2. Maintain 6-inches of clearance from the ground to your siding. If you can, consider upgrading to noncombustible siding like concrete or brick.

3. Regularly clean debris from your roof and gutters.

4. Inspect and regularly prune and trim the trees on your property. Trim all branches so they’re no closer than 10 feet to your home.

5. Use a Class A roof covering. These offer the best protection for your home. Clay tiles, slate, fiberglass asphalt composition shingles and concrete are all good examples of Class A roofing.

6. Install noncombustible fencing like metal, stone or concrete.

7. Keep embers out of your eaves and vents. Cover them with 1/8th inch mesh and box in open eaves to create a soffit.

8. Protect your windows and use multi-pane, tempered glass windows. Always keep them closed when a wildfire is threatening your neighborhood.

9. Protect your deck. Use deck boards that comply with new construction requirements in wildfire-prone areas. Clear out any combustibles stored underneath the deck and create defensible space around it.

10. Keep flammable items away from your home. Things like firewood or propane tanks should be stored a minimum of 30 feet from your home’s foundation.

COUNTRY Financial continues to maintain its financial strength and deliver on promises to clients. AM Best, an independent insurance ratings agency, affirmed our A+(Superior) rating.

This is especially notable, as many other insurance companies have received downgrades as the industry struggles with higher costs and rising losses.

COUNTRY has been in business for nearly 100 years, and we are making long-term decisions that will help us to be there for clients for the next 100 years.

We’re in the midst of severe weather season, and severe weather is how we got our start. 100 years ago (1925), a group of farmers organized to provide lightning insurance for their neighbors and fellow farmers. That organization evolved to become COUNTRY Financial. It’s our home insurance that provides lightning protection today.

Quick tips to keep your home severe weather-ready:
✅ Check your roof regularly for damage, looking for missing shingles, holes or any wear n’ tear that could lead to leaks.
✅ Do you have a basement? Check that your sump pump is working and has a battery backup.
✅ Trim your trees. Falling limbs can do serious damage to your roof, siding or gutters.

But above all else, make sure you have the right home insurance … just in case. Book an appointment and I’ll tell you all about it

Home insurance is a must to protect you if you experience damage to your home. But you may be looking for ways to save. Here are four ways you can cut costs to your home insurance without skimping on coverage:

1. Look for home insurance discounts.
You may be eligible for money-saving discounts if you make improvements to your home, pay on time or avoid claims for a certain amount of time. We offer these home insurance discounts:
• New Roof discount
• Claim Free discount
• Good Payer discount
• Protective Devices discount
• Smart Home discount
• Welcome discount

2. Bundle your policies.
Many home insurers offer discounts if you bundle your home and auto insurance, along with other insurance products. We offer a Multi-Policy discount for clients who have both home and auto policies with us.

3. Change your home insurance deductible.
I can help you choose a deductible that works for your budget. If you want to lower monthly premium costs, you can choose to increase your deductible. Or you can choose a set dollar amount deductible instead of a percentage.

4. Ask me for a home valuation.
Make sure you review your home valuation with a representative. A verified valuation may help you save money on premiums or at the time of a claim.
These are some ways to lower your home insurance rates. Contact me to find out more.
