Raise your hand if you saw this and immediately felt terrified? 🙋‍♀️

This is what happens when you don’t take care of your foundation. Actually, this is what happens AFTER you fix the foundation that you didn’t take care of all those years. Here in Texas, our foundations move and settle. Most people hear the word foundation and run as fast as they can. It’s only because they’re not educated on and don’t understand foundations. It doesn’t have to be scary. And it doesn’t have to be expensive. You just need to get the experts in before it gets too bad.

Here are a few signs that point to foundation issues.

1. Doors that stick or don’t open/close properly - You should NEVER have to trim a door. And here’s a tip: If the door swings open or closed on its own, the direction it is pointing to is usually the direction your foundation has moved.

2. Gaps around window frames or exterior doors
3. Sagging or uneven floors
4. Wall and Floor cracks - DON’T try to cover these up. You’re just wasting your time and money.
5. Counters and cabinets separating from the wall

If you come across any of these signs or you have any questions, PLEASE call your foundation company. And for the love of real estate, don’t DIY those big cracks or trim those doors. You’re not helping the problem go away, you’re just burning a bigger hole in your wallet.
