📅 October 15, 2026 — If you filed an extension, this is your deadline to timely file your 2025 federal tax return.

💵 Expecting a refund? You can still file after October 15! The IRS generally continues accepting e-filed returns until its annual e-file shutdown in November. The exact 2026 shutdown date has not been announced yet.

⚠️ If you owe taxes: Don’t wait! An extension gave you additional time to file, not additional time to pay. Penalties and interest may already be accumulating.
