I get asked this constantly: why are premiums so high in DFW right now?
It's not one thing. North Texas sits in one of the most hail-prone regions in the country, and more hail means more roof claims. After every major storm, roofing companies flood the area, which pushes claims frequency up even further, and claims frequency is one of the biggest factors in how carriers price a policy.
On top of that, DFW is one of the fastest-growing metros in the country. More homes competing for the same contractors and materials after a storm means rebuild costs keep climbing too.
None of this means you're stuck overpaying. It means location affects your pricing more than most people realize.
