2026 ACA INDIVIDUAL PLAN CHANGES BELOW!!!!!

August Flew by but ACA training has slowly started. I work with MANY different companies when it comes to who I contract with and how I train myself as an agent. Many contracting companies (not Insurnace carriers like BCBS or United) have begun the premium increase speculations. The potential for premium increases across the board are likely to be high whether you have an individual plan or a group plan. Many great plans are no longer being offered and the discussion around keeping "grandfathered" plans is happening more often then research for something new every year. With interest switching to keeping plans and renewing there are some VERY IMPORTANT changes you need to know about: your application for individual coverage WILL NOT auto renew from 2025 to 2026. You MUST resubmit an application and re request your current plan. You are required to re verify income and citizen status.
In ADDITION: your auto payment WILL NOT auto renew either from 2025 to 2026 for an ACA individual plan, you must submit a manual first time payment before 1/1/2026 to retain your plan even if you are renewing to the same plan and same carrier!!! YOU WILL LOSE COVERAGE FOR MISSED PAYMENT if you do not update auto pay after 12/2025.

I am EXCITED to be back in August and ready to learn what next year is going to look like for Individual plan options.

I was busier this summer than I have every been with retirees getting ready to shop for their own plans outside of group options.

Last Summer was all about small business owners ready to offer it to their own employees and now we see the market favoring individual plan options again.

It is keeping me on my toes, that is for sure.
There are lots of changes that I am seeing happening on the back end of the industry so It will be interesting to see how it affects plan options and premiums for 2026!

Website has been down. I still own the domain but I am fighting to get it released to another website platform...
running your own small business is never dull.

There are major insurance changes coming, not just to the industry but to how my business will look as well.

The short end of it is that this industry is quite unpredictable at the moment and I have seen huge changes in the last 6 months to many of my small business owner clients and individual policy holders.

I am currently trying to relearn the industry and all the changes that are occurring in real time.
I ask for your patience and understanding as for the first time in a long time I do not feel like an expert in my own field anymore.
As CMS training kicks off and we have an idea of what open enrollment will look like for 2026 the current administration is keeping me on my toes.

When I have a better understanding of what the next year or several look like I will get my website back up, updated and running again.

You may have noticed there have been a lot of changes at the agency!

Things are under construction until further notice as we take a new approach to insurance for the rest of the year.

With so much uncertainty in the individual market and so many changes for my business owners we are restructuring.

I am currently in research and discovery mode as I decide what is going to be best for my individual and business owners for health care coverage in the 2026 and beyond.
