Safety isn’t just a seasonal thing—it’s worth checking in on your habits year-round, especially if you’re over 50.
Here are three simple ways to help prevent injury:
• Keep walkways clear inside and outside your home. Loose rugs, shoes by the door, or uneven steps can easily lead to a fall.
• Be mindful in the heat. Dehydration and heat exhaustion are more common than most people realize—especially when doing yardwork or traveling.
• Use extra caution on ladders and steps. Most home injuries happen when people are doing everyday tasks—changing a lightbulb, trimming a branch, or grabbing something from a high shelf.
Staying safe also means having the right coverage in place before something unexpected happens.
If you’ve retired early or no longer have employer benefits, ACA plans can help bridge the gap—covering emergency care, prescriptions, and follow-up visits when you need them most.
