I had my first Medicare broker rollout meeting today to get ready for the 2027 AEP season. Over the next month I will be meeting with all my carriers to learn the changes (as well as adding a few more contracts) to bring you the latest info and make sure my portfolio has something for everyone in need!

If you’re a current Medicare client, you can start reaching out to me anytime to schedule your initial plan review call (these start October 1st unless you already received your ANOC in the mail). Just a friendly reminder that it is always a good idea to at least speak with your broker this time of year to make sure your plan is still the most suitable or to set up time to further discuss other options if not. Looking forward to another successful season serving all my existing and prospective clients. Cheers to Health!

This is important people! These are the rate increases that the carriers are submitting on your 2027 ACA compliant coverage in PA. UPMC is proposing to increase between 12 - 15.8% on individual market plans while Highmark is proposing between 16 - 21% depending which area you live in… Most of my clients are based in western PA where we only have Highmark or UPMC in the under 65 individual market which is why I am pointing out these two carriers. If anyone has any objections to these rates, make your voice heard! The time is now! Public comment via email is open until August 22nd.

We’ve announced the proposed 2027 health insurance rates for individual and small group plans.

Before companies can sell insurance plans, they must submit their proposed rates for the next year. We conduct a thorough review to ensure these rates are fair and justified.

During this time, we welcome public comments. You can send them by email before August 22.

We will announce the final rates later this year, after this process is complete and any needed changes are made.

On this 250th anniversary of our nation’s independence, never forget why and how we got here. As we sought to break free from Great Britain’s tyrannical rule, we believed in ALL Americans’ rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness…when I think of freedom, I think freedom of thought, freedom of choice, freedom to live life on my own terms as long as I am not causing harm to anyone else. Oppressive government policies and corporate agendas were not part of the picture, to my knowledge. Not to get too political despite this being a very political holiday, but in my opinion, the 4th of July is a good time to reflect on where we started and how our country has evolved. Do you like the state of our nation or could we do better as a whole? Never forget that it was the brave men and women who stood up for what they believed and fought to try and build a better life for themselves and their families. Silence equates to agreement. Always stand up for what you believe. Happy Independence Day! Happy 250th Anniversary, America! 🇺🇸

April is Medicaid Awareness Month! We should all take some time to learn more about this vital program.

Started in 1965, Medicaid is administered by states, according to federal requirements and is jointly funded. Each state designs their program to provide federally mandated basic services and most states also cover additional services such as prescription drugs, physical therapy and dental care.

Currently there are approximately 68 million people covered by Medicaid in the U.S., including low income adults, children, pregnant women, people with disabilities, veterans, and more than 7 million seniors. 18 - 20% of Medicare beneficiaries also have Medicaid coverage.

For more information, visit Medicaid.gov or MedicaidAwareness.com. Feel free to reach out to me if you are losing Medicaid which is a huge concern for many Americans right now as I can help you get other coverage. On the other hand, if you are a Medicare beneficiary that is also eligible for Medicaid, you may be eligible for greater benefits and I can help you get them with a Medicare Advantage Dual Special Needs Plan (DSNP).
