U.S. Marshals Service Offering Up to $5,500 Reward for Information Leading to Arrest of Convicted Murderer Wanted for Assault

The U.S. Marshals Service Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force (PNVOTF) is offering a reward of up to $5,500 for information that directly leads to the arrest of Donald Smiley, who is wanted on multiple warrants and should be considered violent and dangerous.

Smiley is wanted by the Washington State Department of Corrections on a Secretary’s Warrant for violating the terms and conditions of his community custody following a murder conviction. He is also wanted on a Spokane County Superior Court warrant for first degree assault stemming from a stabbing that occurred over the weekend in Chattaroy, Washington.

Smiley is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Investigators believe he may be attempting to flee to Idaho.

The U.S. Marshals Service Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force is collaboratively working with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Spokane Valley Police Department Investigative Unit (SVIU), and the Washington State Department of Corrections Community Response Unit (CRU) to locate and arrest Smiley.

Anyone who sees him should immediately call 911 and not approach Smiley. Anyone with information regarding Smiley’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the U.S. Marshals Service at 1-877-926-8332 or submit tips at [email protected]. Tipsters may remain anonymous. Information leading directly to Smiley’s arrest may be eligible for the reward.
