This is Daniela (right), the Super Rad Race Director of the Clackamas Cove Cruise Open Water Swim, pictured with their awesome partner Sam. 🌊🏊‍♀️

A few years back, Daniela and Sam posted to a Portland FB LGBTQIA community page asking for mortgage lender recommendations. People tagged me, we met up on Zoom, and eventually, I helped them buy their first house.

Working with Daniela and Sam was a joy — they are funny, smart, and do epically cool things like OPEN WATER SWIMMING. 🌊🏊‍♀️ Even cooler, they engage in COMMUNITY ORGANIZING to bring people together.
Flash forward a couple years and they were posting again but this time they were doing outreach for their new Open Swim Event in Oregon City (https://www.clackamascoveswim.com/) where I eagerly signed up as a sponsor AND a swim safety volunteer. 🌟

Last Saturday morning, I woke up at 5 am, loaded my paddleboard, and layered myself in neoprene, wool, and other quick-dry, waterproof fabrics to brave the very cold wind and rain.

Despite the frog strangling rain, I witnessed an amazing display of athleticism, endurance, and community spirit as swimmers tackled the 2000m and 4000m courses.

It was also an honor to support such a vibrant community event.

It has been a while since I’ve posted here. I was busy with teenagers, busy at work, and for the last 6 months of 2023, I was busy waging a personal war on breast cancer. It was a lot to manage at once but I am THRILLED to report, that battle is been won!

I am starting 2024 with more gratitude, wisdom, and energy for what will likely be a very busy year in real estate and what I plan to be a year filled with making memories and savoring the best of this life.

Together with a couple of other rad teenagers, my kids Ozzy and V are in a band through a community music organization called My Voice Music. It’s a special kind of music program that nurtures self expression, confidence, and connection.

In this promo video I can feel the joy, the play, the community. All the best parts of being a person.

I have always heard that the best time to buy a house is now, 10 years ago, or now. My personal edit to this mostly good advice is that the best time to buy is when you are financially ready to commit to and can solidly afford the monthly payment. It's a big decision but I am happy to be your thought partner to figure out what's possible now and help you make a plan for your future. Give me a call.
