Scovia Angiro is coming to Mariemont to speak! Scovia survived the struggles that overwhelmed Uganda with the terror of Joseph Kony. Her father was lost in a rebel attack when she was just months old and her mother was alone to raise eight children. If you ask Ugandans the number one way to contribute to their nation it is through education. Unified for Uganda is impacting young people similar to Scovia. The Unified for Uganda chapter at Mariemont is working hard to raise funds for 3 children in Gulu, Uganda. Scovia, who defied odds by being among only about 1% of the women in Uganda to graduate from college, is an compelling speaker. Her biggest message is everyone has the power to make an impact! Come to Mariemont High School C20 at 7 pm Tuesday, October 21st to hear Scovia’s story and to learn more about Unified for Uganda. All students, parents, and teachers are welcome.
