The Crochet Queens at Facing Forward We are The Crochet Queens. We are using knitting and crocheting to promote improved mental health, social support, and smoking cessation.

Our residents have survived and overcome an enormous amount of adversity; many of them have been previously homeless. Our crochet and knitting class promotes improved mental health, social support, and smoking cessation. Our goal is to teach the women a life skill that will promote confidence, empowerment, and financial independence for these women. For donations, please send to

The Crochet Queens at Facing Forward spent their Saturday at the "Beyond October - Healthy Habits, Healthy Lives" event at IIT. Thanks to the Metropolitan Chicago Breast Cancer Task Force for letting us participate! It was a wonderful event.
