(SIFE) Students in Free Enterprise at UIC A new team from an existing entity. www.sife.org UIC SIFE has a business plan for an organic garden that we are hoping to implement!

SIFE is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping people in the community create financial stability for themselves by helping the people in need create businesses by providing the education and resources in order to do so. SIFE is about entrepreneurship and applying the business concepts taught in classes and putting it to the street and creating a sustainable business or businesses.

SIFE students are expected to create projects within their community and outside the community that will help others in a positive way. Examples of projects are being involved in Junior Achievement, Networking for Entrepreneurship or starting a new business.

General information

Every March a Regional Competition is held in Chicago for the teams surrounding the Chicago area. If teams proceed past regionals, they then compete in a National Competition which is held in a different city each year within the United States. When one team is named the National Competition Winner they are then moved onto the World Competition where the SIFE teams from the 39 countries who have SIFE compete in a different world city each year on the projects they have done, the people impacted and how they have affected the populace in a positive way.
