Where do we even begin.
When we started NutMeg’s in January of 2017 we had no idea what a fun and amazing journey it would be over the next 5 years. We didn’t know of all the amazing people we’d meet, connections we’d make, lessons we’d learn, and fun we’d have. Honestly we didn’t even know we’d be moving to Chicago and starting our business all over in a new state. But we did it, and we had an amazing support system at ever step of our journey.
So many things have happened throughout the last couple of years. We had a child, our beautiful baby boy (Nakhosi) and Megan’s mother passed away from cancer in the span of 6 months during the middle of a global pandemic. The massive life events caused us to re-evaluate what we had the capacity to do in terms of growing this amazing company. After a lot of difficult conversations, we recently decided that the best thing for us and our family was to move on to the next stage of life and leave NutMeg’s behind.
We engaged with a business partner about them potentially purchasing our company but ultimately the deal fell through. We hoped this announcement would be us saying NutMeg’s story lives on but unfortunately that’s not the case.
But, that’s okay! We are excited for a new journey which also involves moving back to our home state of Minnesota! We are extremely excited to once again be near the family and friends we left just 5 years ago. A lot has happened in Minnesota since then, and we are excited to see how the next chapter of our journey plays out there!
We will miss serving our customers and living in the great state of Illinois! This has been such a wonderful home for us over the last half decade and it will always be our 2nd home.
