Happy Friday, everyone!
Graham recently visited the Wade Center at Wheaton College, which features the wardrobe that inspired C.S. Lewis's The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. The wardrobe is handmade - including the hinges and nails! Tucked in the back of the Wade Center is a painting by Sarah Brestin Hale titled Aslan. The painting is beautiful and multi-layered in texture and meaning. If you have a chance to visit, be sure to have the Wade Center staff share the story of the painting!
In addition to seeing the wardrobe that inspired The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, Graham stumbled upon this beautiful mosaic designed and assembled by Wheaton faculty and students. Intriguingly, there is subtle text in the mosaic - including some (literally) mirrored text that runs from left to right, as well as lots of symbolic imagery. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the western suburbs of Chicago.
