Sharing your story can be so selfish when it’s only focused on you.

I used to think that I had to tell my story in order for people to like me. I never really thought about what was in it for the other person watching it.

But once I started thinking more about the viewer, I know tell my story to help and impact others.

1. Stability is the goal. Stability means nothing if I wasn’t fulfilled. Taking risks is hard but I now have the opportunities my parents never had.

2. Success meant following the traditional path. I pivoted from being a doctor because I wanted to redefine my own version of success - be able to travel, be financially free, and have freedom.

3. Avoid being seen. Turns out, being seen online is what actually gives you visibility and opportunities. Visibility was something my parent never had because they always kept their head down and grinded.

4. Investing and taking care of myself was selfish. My family is counting on me but I can’t pour into them if my cup isn’t full. Sometimes I feel guilty about this but I know it’s necessary.

5. Sharing your wins is bragging. Stay humble. I share my wins to show others what is possible and the abundance of opportunities for everyone

6. That pivoting meant failure. I always had to be a straight A student. I was too scared to ever bring home a B. But literally no one is perfect and there’s nothing wrong with that. I didn’t have to be perfect for my parents.

The life that I’m building required me to shift my beliefs and leave the old ones behind.

If there’s one thing I wish I did sooner to build my brand, it was sharing my story.

And sharing it with the intention of helping someone. We all have stories and we can all use them to impact so many people.

I used to overthink and still do…

Because what if it doesn’t work out? What if it does but then what if I don’t know what to do next? Then what?

Or maybe I should go back to school and study to be a doctor.

Hmmm maybe corporate isn’t too bad. At least I’ll have a salary…

But all that thinking got me nowhere. All I was doing was fantasizing about possibilities that were never going to happen because I didn’t take any action.

Your thoughts AND actions create your reality. Thinking alone only gets you so far.

So the best time to start and take action was yesterday. The next best time is today.

Your dreams deserve to be chased. And you’re on no one’s timeline but your own.

What was once failure is now my superpower. What was once embarrassing is now authenticity.

In a space where everyone is telling you to do something different, do what WORKS FOR YOU!!

This is what I did so that I never feel stuck not knowing what to post about. And my brand evolves as I evolve as a person. No more feeling boxed in to a niche and no more random posting.
