As temperatures drop, icy driveways and garages can pose real hazards for both drivers and pedestrians. Stay safe when arriving home with these helpful tips:

• Slow down: It takes longer to stop or steer on icy roads. Reduce your speed as you approach your driveway or garage.
• Clear ice and snow: Remove buildup from your vehicle, driveway, and garage entrance before parking.
• Check your surroundings: Look for slick spots along your driveway and walkways, especially in high-traffic areas.
• Use sand or salt: Treat icy surfaces to improve traction and reduce the chance of slipping.
