SEED20 Charlotte

Tickets to SEED20 OnStage are now ON SALE!

I am thrilled to share that I have been accepted into Social Venture Partners Charlotte’s SEED20 program. I have joined a class of 10 nonprofits and will be presenting on behalf of Books with Color at SEED20 OnStage on Tuesday, March 26. I would love your support as I participate in this extraordinary opportunity at Central Piedmont’s New Theater.

Since the beginning of the year, I have received training, coaching, feedback, and mentoring on how to succinctly and powerfully tell our organization’s story – who we are and why our work matters. My efforts will be showcased at SEED20 OnStage–a high-energy event where I'll compete with the nine other nonprofit class members to win cash awards by making three-minute pitches to a community audience – hopefully including you!

As audience members, you will receive full access to:

Hearing powerful stories from 10 organizations pitching our region’s most innovative ideas for tackling pressing social challenges.

Voting for this year’s Wells Fargo People’s Choice Grand Prize recipient!

Watching prizes awarded to the nonprofit leaders who move you and, quite likely, inspired you to take action! (Records were broken last year with over $80,000 in prizes awarded.)

Options to Attend

1) There is nothing like being in the room for the magic of SEED20 OnStage! In-person tickets are $85 and include a post-event reception where you can interact with the nonprofit participants and learn more about their mission and opportunities for support and engagement.

2) If you can't join in person, livestream tickets are $30. All ticket purchases include access to the replay.

SEED20 OnStage Program

6:15 PM | Doors open for mingling in the lobby. We ask that all attendees take their seats by 6:55 PM.
7:00 PM | The stage portion of the evening features ten nonprofit pitches, an audience text-to-vote to select the top prize winner, SVP Charlotte's presentation of cash and in-kind awards, and the opportunity to donate directly to those participants who inspire you. (Note: Virtual attendees will also participate in the text-to-vote and have the chance to donate).
8:30 PM | After the show, in-person audience members can engage with the stars of the night – the nonprofit presenters – to learn more about their initiatives and opportunities for further engagement. Complimentary dessert, beer, wine, and other refreshments are included.

Thank you for your continued support of (insert name of your nonprofit org). I'm so excited to be a part of SEED20 and know we can continue to make a difference in our community. I hope to see you at Central Piedmont's New Theater on March 26!

SEED20 is an annual program of Social Venture Partners Charlotte to identify, highlight, and connect the community to the region’s most promising social entrepreneurs tackling pressing challenges.

Starting in early 2024, these participants will receive training, coaching, and mentoring on how to succinctly and powerfully tell their stories, including who they are and why their missions matter. On March 26, 2024, their efforts will be showcased at SEED20 OnStage, a high-energy event where all ten nonprofit participants will have the opportunity to win cash and in-kind awards by making three-minute pitches to a large audience.

Thankful to be on this journey.

Excited to be a part of the YWCA’s literacy festival. We got an opportunity to celebrate the magic of sharing stories and even did some LiLi yoga with the Youth Learning Center students from the YWCA’s after-school program.

Change is ours to create.

Thank you, National African American Read-In for inviting us to participate in the panel this year.

The Third Annual Celebration of the National African American Read In was hosted by Charlotte Mecklenburg Library at Sugar Creek Charter Elementary.

The public was invited to engage with children’s literature featuring African American protagonists and/or written by African American Authors. Families were invited to join parent & education workshops and panel, write poetry, learn how to author their own stories, watch live spoken word and youth dance performances, and meet with children’s story authors. Free food, raffle giveaways, and a book sale were also available.

Thank you to everyone who made the event a success!

Every book we sell=charitable donation

Books by LG has a passion for helping those who need support. We don't live in a perfect world, and there's never going to be a perfect time to give—but there are always people out there in need of help. We chose Urban Promise to make an impact on our community by donating a portion of proceeds for every book we sell and continue our mission of building bonds and inspiring dreams with each book we create. Every book we sell = charitable donation.
