I have had many consultations where I will ask the question; "Is there any reason why you did not have any Life Insurance coverage before today?" I receive different answers like; "I been meaning too" "I didn't know where to start" & etc. Some people have said, "Well I'm not thinking of dying anytime soon"

The last statement is fueled by fear & fear should not be a factor of this type of thinking when it comes to Life Insurance. It is imperative to shift this mindset. We must plan for the future, so the future doesn't come upon us without there being any plans put in place. It is a burden on our loved ones when are not covered. Happy Wednesday❤️

Lately many from social media have asked me if I am still doing Life Insurance & The Answer is YES!!! When it comes to Life Insurance, here are somethings to think about?

Do you currently know where your policy is located? (I keep mine in a safe & my daughters who are the beneficiaries know about the policies & location.)

Is your beneficiary aware of the life insurance policy they are a beneficiary too and have a copy of the policy and know where the policy is located?

I know this is isn’t the easiest conversation to have but the life insurance company is not going to search for a death certificate to pay out a policy if you don’t provide them the information they need from your when a loved one passes away. There have been families who have had to pay for funerals because they did not know their loved ones had a policy until the family was cleaning out their house.

I encourage you to have the conversation with your family about life insurance to make sure the necessary plans are put in place. Once they are put in place for your vision, than you don’t have to worry about it in the future depending on the type of policy it is. If it is a term policy, you will have to revisit it when the “term” ends.

Why do I provide consultations over quotes when it comes to Life Insurance?

A quote will ONLY give you a rate according to the healthiest to the next healthiest person based off of age & gender. When you consult with a Licensed Agent, the agent is gathering detailed information about YOU specifically to let you know where you qualify, and which carrier would be the BEST. I do consultations because I am contracted with at least 20 carriers and knowledgeable information about YOU, will allow me to have the information to place you with the carrier who’s going to be BEST for YOU.

When I first started in the business I used to do only quotes & than I would run an application and some clients would get declined. This is not a good look because even declined applications report to your MIB (Medical Information Bureau) and carriers could judge you for this and not want to provide coverage to you.

Life Insurance is an asset and I encourage to take at least an hour of your time to get the information from a consultation so you have the knowledge you need, to go with what is BEST for your NEEDS. I have walked into many homes where policies were written from quotes only, just for people to find out, they didn’t have what was MOST beneficial for them.

How does Life Insurance at your job work?

Here is the TRUTH, and something you want to have knowledge on early & take action on because “When you WAIT, the WAIT will increase your RATE.”

Your life insurance through your job is temporary unless you work for a government job or district which will not end. About more than 85% WILL end. I have a client who had life insurance on his job and a term policy. He was unaware of what the policies would do or not do. His job ended and he couldn’t get anymore term life insurance because of his age, they would not cover him any longer. He was 76 years old when we put his whole life permanent policy in place, where he pays almost $200 a month, for coverage he could have paid less than $50 a month, had he put something in place earlier. The wife was like they had no choice because he needed to be covered.

To understand the terms and to know what your policy is saying & the type of coverage you have is 🔑…There are 2 words I am constantly explaining when it comes to life insurance. Those 2 words are (term) & (whole) life. Here is the difference.

Term is going to do, exactly what it says (TERM for terminate) this type of policy will come to an end. Many get it confused and really believe they will have it for their whole life. A key to know if you have a term policy is the fact that the premiums are also going to keep changing & going up.

Whole Life Policy is going to do exactly what it says, (WHOLE aka entire) as long as this policy receives the payments each month, you will have it for your whole life and the payment amount will not change, nor will you have to worry about it terminating after a certain time.

I am not against any type of policy, I understand the value in them ALL, according to the needs & desires, which is best for a person or family’s vision.
