[Oct. 21] The Ride is coming to Charlotte -- mural activation and community gathering

The Ride is a project broadly retracing the route of the 1961 Freedom Ride route, from Washington, D.C. through the south to New Orleans, the city the original riders never reached.

A coalition of civil rights leaders, artists, faith leaders, original Freedom Riders, and descendants and relatives of the original Freedom Riders will be riding the bus and meeting the bus along the way.

The Ride is a bus tour and feature documentary, with the goal of voter turnout. It’s organized as a non-partisan 501(c)(3) tour dedicated to a just, fair and open voting process.

The Ride is making a stop at TAOH Outdoor Gallery, 2200 N Brevard Street, Charlotte, NC.

TAOH is hosting a community event from 4:30 to 9 p.m. It's free and all ages are welcome. This is a non-partisan event, with no campaigning allowed.

What to Expect:
• Co-creating murals (some supplies are available; NTP Supply will be on site)
• Spray Paint Demonstration
• Spoken word
• DJs
• Drum Circle
• Community potluck
• The Underground Art Bus
