The S&P 500 slipped modestly as technology and communication services pulled back, even after the Fed delivered its third straight rate cut.

Early optimism faded as investors weighed AI earnings expectations and slowing global growth.

One standout: silver climbed to record highs, a reminder that caution still has a place in portfolios.

This week brings a heavy dose of economic data, including jobs, inflation, and retail sales.
Those numbers will help shape what comes next for rates in 2026.

Plenty to watch. Plenty to think about.

If the last few years taught us anything, it is this: markets do not follow scripts.

After two strong years, 2025 delivered volatility and surprises.
And yet here we are.

U.S. and international stocks are up double digits across the board.
By any measure, it has been a strong year for equities.

Looking toward 2026, predictions matter less than positioning.
Tax policy has created real opportunities for investors, retirees, and business owners.
Lower rates may be ahead.
Incentives for growth are back on the table.

There will be noise. There always is.
But there are also tailwinds worth paying attention to.

How much of your financial behavior is truly yours?

In this episode, Wealth Manager Ryan Poterack and host Charrise McCrorey explore how family influences quietly shape money decisions for decades.

From saving patterns to spending habits, we often repeat what we’ve seen, without realizing it.

This episode invites listeners to look beyond numbers and consider how emotion and upbringing affect their plans today.

Because breaking financial cycles starts with awareness, and awareness leads to freedom.

Stocks pulled back as tech cooled and AI excitement paused.
Trading felt choppier, leadership narrowed, and investors grew more selective.

Nothing broke.
But the mood shifted.

Value and defensive areas quietly held their ground while growth took a breath.
It was a reminder that rotations happen, even late in the year.

That kind of pause can bring clarity if you know where to look.

Retirement planning is often treated like a math problem, but the truth is, numbers only tell half the story.

In this episode of Life Isn’t Lived on a Spreadsheet, Certified Financial Planner, Alec Quaid unpacks the real equation behind a successful retirement.

Because money should support your life, not the other way around.

It’s a conversation about shifting from accumulation to intention, and why the right formula always starts with what truly matters to you.

The S&P 500 finished just below a record.
The Dow and Nasdaq both moved higher, helped by softer inflation.

Investors liked the cooling price data, which kept markets on a four day winning streak.

Now attention shifts to the Federal Reserve.
Many expect another quarter point cut next week, with inflation running below 3% and hiring slowing.

With stocks near record levels, the next economic reports will shape how the year closes.

Thanksgiving week gave us a lot to be grateful for.

Ryan’s daughter Kaitlin, who many of you know from her years working with us, shared big news. She and her husband are expecting a baby girl. She is due in May and the whole family is thrilled.

Work brought its own reasons to be thankful. Our partnership with Mercer continues to move in a strong direction. The markets rebounded as well, which never hurts.

Personally and professionally, it was one of those weeks that reminds you how much there is to appreciate.

Most of us do not have to look very far to see the good.

The S&P rose nearly 4%. The Dow gained more than 3%. The Nasdaq climbed more than 4% as tech and AI names rebounded.

Rate cut expectations and early optimism about 2026 helped fuel the rally.

What matters now:

This week brings manufacturing reports, services data and the November jobs numbers. Global data from Europe, Canada and China will also shape the outlook.

With markets near record highs, traders will be watching to see whether the momentum continues or cools.

The story was pretty clear.

Tech stocks bounced and helped the Nasdaq break a three day slide.
The S&P slipped slightly. The Dow drifted lower.
Volatility stayed elevated as traders tried to make sense of the Fed.

The midweek drop came from doubt about a December rate cut.
The late week rebound came from optimism around upcoming earnings, especially from companies tied to AI and semiconductors.

Next week will be all about jobs data, inflation numbers, and Nvidia.
Those three pieces will likely shape how investors feel heading into the year end.

Control what you can control.

Last week was one of the rougher ones for markets since April.
But that’s life as an investor: you decide your risk, set your allocation, and then the world does what it does.

Your goals don’t change just because the market does.

And as we move into the holidays, a quick reminder:
You can’t control what people think.
If politics come up, spend more time listening than talking.

Focus on what you can control.

A new client recently joked, “The only two things that are certain in life are death and taxes. There won’t be much you can do to help me save on taxes.” Our response: That is not necessarily true.

Tax-efficient investing is more nuanced and strategic than most people realize.

We help clients minimize taxes through asset placement, tax-loss harvesting, thoughtful Roth conversions, and staying ahead of tax-law changes.

The goal is simple: maximize after-tax returns without sacrificing long-term growth.

If you have not yet uploaded your most recent tax return to us, consider it your first step toward uncovering opportunities you may not know exist.
