2020. What.A.Year. It may have been a crazy ride, but we made it to the end. We made it!! If I could sum up the year in one word, it would be THANKFUL.

Are any of your employees considering updating their Federal W-4 Form? Here is a link that hourly employees can use to see how their payroll taxes will be affected if they update to the 2020 W-4 Federal Form.

Many employees are still using the 2019 W-4 form (which is completely fine as long as they were hired before January 1, 2020), but just remember once an employee moves from the 2019 W-4 Form to the 2020 W-4 Form, they cannot go back.

Simply download Dropbox on your phone (it's free!), snap a picture every time you swipe your business card and then leave it to us to attach each receipt to the corresponding transaction in QBO! (Hint: You can do also do this with invoices and checks written 😉)

A client e-mailed me last week and said he was reviewing his Accounts Receivable Aging Summary Report and noticed that the balance for one of his customers was off. I am so proud of them for reviewing this report on a regular basis so that we could fix the issue promptly. 👏😁

📢 Have you heard??? 📢
If you're used to filing the form 1099-MISC for contractors (for non-employee compensation), there's a change you need to be aware of for 2020. You will now be required to report non-employee compensation on form 1099-NEC instead.

For years, businesses used Form 1099-MISC to report calendar-year payments exceeding $600 to individuals who performed business services. These include vendors, independent contractors, freelancers, and consultants.
