It's not all about numbers, but why limit your options to 1 carrier when you could compare coverages and pricing with multiple?

A common situation that I run into is "we have been with the same carrier for 20 years and we have never looked around". In those situations, not only do I often find coverage gaps that have not been updated in 20 years, but it is also shocking to see the numbers and what the client could have been saving all of these years.

The start up of Slate Insurance has been a really good reminder that people still value working with someone local who actually answers the phone.

I started this agency because insurance has gotten way too confusing, and I wanted to do it differently. Clear explanations, honest guidance, and coverage that actually makes sense.

The cheapest policy is only “cheap” until you actually need it.

Insurance marketing is consistently focused on “pick the lowest number and keep moving.” Insurance can be a big expense, but the flaw in that thinking is that, generally, the cheapest thing comes with cheap service and a ton of holes in coverage.

Saving a little each month is great, but being underinsured on a bad day is expensive. The best part about being an insurance brokerage is being able to work with multiple insurance carriers to compare and combat pricing without having to sacrifice coverage along the way.

Would it actually pay out the way you think it will? Are your limits high enough for real life? Is your deductible a number you can actually handle? Are there any weird exclusions that would hurt you at the worst time?

When is the last time you had someone look at your policies?

The harsh reality is that most people look for insurance once every 5–10 years, sign up for something that they hope is good, and never look back until there is a claim or something goes wrong.

My hope is to write a solid policy that you can be confident in and talk you through the coverages in plain English so that you know what is covered and what to look out for.

Insurance is an expensive part of life and something that everyone has to have, but the last thing you want after spending all of that money is for a claim not to be covered because you weren't covered for something you thought you were.

If something bad happened tomorrow, do you know what your insurance would actually do? Not what you hope it would do, but what it would actually do.

Most people set up their insurance once… and then life changes: You moved or bought a new place, added a car or a teen driver, you’ve got more stuff now (tools, jewelry, tech)

Sure, price matters, but it’s not just, “Can I make this cheaper?” It’s also “are my limits stuck where they were 5 years ago? Is my deductible a number I could really handle? Would this policy actually protect my stuff the way I think it would?”

My job is to walk through all of this with you in normal human language and make sure your coverage still fits your life.
