Edward Jones - Financial Advisor: Jess Dechant

Edward Jones - Financial Advisor: Jess Dechant As a financial advisor at Edward Jones, it is important to me to understand what is important to you. In 2005, I became a financial advisor in Chandler, AZ.

One-size-fits-all may be fine for some investors, but I believe your investment strategy should be tailored to your specific needs and goals. Whether your goals include preparing for or living in retirement, paying for education, planning for the unexpected, or creating an estate or inheritance, I can offer investment solutions for your unique goals. As a child, I was raised around the financial i

ndustry, specifically Edward Jones. My father, Lee, was an Edward Jones financial advisor in my hometown of Goshen, IN. He and my mom, Sue, raised me to be responsible with money and set an example of helping others. In 2003, I graduated magna cm laude from the Barrett Honors College and W.P. Carey School of Business, which are part of Arizona State University. In 2003, I started with Edward Jones as an academic training leader. I received the professional designations of AAMS® in 2007 and CFP® in 2011. My branch team is comprised of myself and two branch office administrators. Lori Clark started with the firm in 2008, and we have been working together since 2012. Pepsi Harriman joined our team early 2017. Our goal is to provide excellent customer service to our clients. I hold a significant volunteer position with Edward Jones, serving as regional leader for one of the more than 300 regions in the firm. My region is comprised of over 60 branches in the Phoenix metro area. I live with my husband, Shawn, and children, Tyce and Quinn, in Chandler, AZ. We are an active family and love riding bikes, sporting events and traveling together. We enjoy the chaotic life that young children bring. It is important to me to give back to the community through the United Way, volunteering in children's events, and helping organize a valley wide Bag-a-Thon benefiting local food banks. Member SIPC.

NVIDIA's earnings reinforced the strength of the AI investment cycle, while Kevin Warsh's Jackson Hole remarks provided greater clarity on the Fed's inflation-fighting priorities. Despite seasonal headwinds, the fundamental backdrop for equities remains constructive.

Angelo Kourkafas, Sr. Global Investment Strategist, discusses the latest developments in AI, Fed policy, and markets in this week's Weekly Market Wrap.

Higher Treasury yields weighed on equities last week, renewing concerns about whether the economy and markets can withstand elevated rates. Despite the potential for seasonal volatility, resilient economic activity and strong corporate earnings support a constructive backdrop for equities.

Investment Strategist Brock Weimer explains what’s behind the move higher in long-term yields in the latest Weekly Market Wrap.

Earlier this summer, I had the privilege of bringing together a group of experienced Jones advisors for Cornerstone — 2 days with some of our Market's most tenured financial advisors — in St. Louis, and one message keeps coming back to me:

It's not about what we covered. It's about why: To inform. To inspire. To implement.

We talked about the Great Wealth Transfer, the shifting expectations of clients across generations, the evolving opportunities in front of advisors today and what the next chapter of a career in this industry can look like. Powerful conversations.

But inspiration without action is just a memory. The advisors who will thrive are those who took their "ah-ha" moment and turned it into momentum.

So as we enter the last quarter of the year, I'm curious: what's one thing you're committing to before year-end? For me, it's to evolve. Not just to stay relevant, but to be a trusted and essential part of our clients' success. A partner who helps shape outcomes, not just support them.

I'd love to hear what you're working toward.

Can a six-figure income still leave you feeling financially lost?

Our research with Gallup — recently featured in Fortune — found that among Americans earning more than $135,000, nearly 70% still struggle to feel financially fulfilled. Even more striking: 1 in 5 high earners report experiencing significant financial stress.

As a financial advisor, this doesn't surprise me. Income alone doesn't create confidence. What can make a difference is having a clear plan, knowing what matters most to you, and feeling genuinely in control of your financial future.
If any of this resonates, I'd love to start a conversation.

Inflation has trended lower, supporting the case for the Federal Reserve to keep policy rates steady. While the path back to the Fed's inflation target may not be perfectly smooth, strong earnings, healthy economic growth and resilient consumer spending continue to help support market strength.

The S&P 500 reached new highs as several key market headwinds began to ease. While record levels can make investors hesitant, history suggests that all-time highs have often been followed by continued gains, with long-term returns comparable to, or even better than, investing on a typical trading day.*

The Federal Reserve held rates steady as earnings from four Magnificent 7 companies led to mixed market reactions, suggesting that investors increasingly want evidence that AI spending is translating into durable revenue and earnings growth. While interest rates may remain higher for longer, resilient economic growth, strong corporate earnings and broader participation across sectors continues to support equities.

Brian Therien, Investment Strategist, explains what this means and how this could impact investors in the latest Weekly Market Wrap.
