📢 PSA: Not Every Person Taking Photos of a Building Is Suspiciousl
If you see someone walking around a property taking photos, measuring walls, roofs, windows, or other parts of a building, please don't automatically assume they're up to something suspicious.
Many professionals—including appraisers, insurance inspectors, assessors, engineers, contractors, and surveyors—regularly document and measure properties as part of their jobs. These activities are often required for property valuations, insurance underwriting, financing, tax assessments, renovations, or safety inspections.
Before posting photos of someone online or calling them out as suspicious, consider that they may simply be performing legitimate work for a property owner, lender, insurance company, or government agency.
A little understanding can help prevent unnecessary concern and misinformation. If you have questions about someone on your property, it's always reasonable to politely ask who they are or contact the property owner for clarification.
