The Lost Photos of Joplin Project is an effort to save from destruction all photos displaced by the Joplin tornado and facilitate the return of these photos to their rightful owners. By collecting these photos into a centralized archive and making them visible t

o the public by posting them on Facebook and our website, the chances of a positive outcome is greatly improved. We have saved nearly 30,000 photos from the debris and post approx. 1,000 new photos per week. as the official photo recovery project for Joplin. We were very pleased to have partnered with the First Baptist Church of Carthage who are working tirelessly to scan the many thousands of photos that have been sent in. We are also blessed to be partnered with SMB Bank, who has generously offered to serve as drop off locations for our project.

After a storm, after friends and family are accounted for, the next item on the list is always the family photos. We always hear “I can replace the house, I can replace the car, but I would give anything for the photos, my family bible, my grandma quilt. “

The goal of this Project is to provide a home for the lost photos, documents and mementos left behind after the Joplin, MO Tornado. Papers can be found hundreds of miles away from a storm site, and once lost; they almost never find their way home to their displaced owners. These items can be easily destroyed by mold and rot if not preserved properly. The items we are looking for are:

Photographs, documents like passports, IDs or certificates, diplomas, medical records

Family bibles, small items which are obviously heirloom or of significant sentimental value. If you have found photos, you may drop them off at any of our drop off locations. Thank you so much for your help with this project.

Where would our photos go if our house were to be hit by a tornado? The answer is everywhere. But for Thad Beeler's neighbors, that question wasn't a hypothetical...it was grounded in harsh reality after the deadly May 2011 Joplin Tornado...and Thad decided to do something about it. To find out more...

Here's how to do If you are thinking of getting off FB because of the volume of sales ads and trash stuff. So hold your finger anywhere in this post and click ′copy’. Go to your page where it says ‘What's on your mind?’ Tap your finger anywhere in the blank field. Click paste. This upgrades the system.
Hello new and old friends!

IT ACTUALLY WORKED!!!! 👍👊🙏
Hold your finger anywhere in this message and “copy” will appear. Click “copy”. Then go to your page, create a new post and place your finger anywhere in the empty field. “Paste” will appear and click Paste.
This will bypass the system….
