📣 Cape Coral and Southwest Florida residents with UnitedHealthcare—please review this update.
Lee Health has announced that beginning January 1, 2027, its hospitals and physicians will be out of network for affected UnitedHealthcare employer-based, individual, and Medicare Advantage plans.
A few important distinctions:
• UnitedHealthcare/AARP Medicare Supplement (Medigap) coverage is not affected by this network change.
• UnitedHealthcare Marketplace plans are already out of network with Lee Health.
• Florida Heart Associates’ contracts are not included in this change.
Your insurance itself is not being canceled, but receiving care out of network could mean higher costs or coverage limitations. Don’t cancel scheduled care without first understanding your options. If you’re in active treatment, ask UnitedHealthcare about Continuity of Care.
I’m here to help you review your Medicare or individual health insurance options and check your doctors and hospitals before you make a decision.
