🎨💜 My Mother's Hands Created Beauty 💜🎨
Today, I found myself going through some of my mom's artwork and art supplies.
Each brushstroke, each project, each unfinished idea tells a story of a woman who poured her heart and soul into creating beauty. She had a gift. Not just for art, but for seeing the world through eyes of wonder, color, and possibility.
Dementia is a cruel disease.
It slowly steals memories, words, and pieces of the person we love. Yet as I held her artwork in my hands, I was reminded that while dementia can change so much, it cannot erase the beauty she created or the love she gave.
There are so many difficult moments on this journey. Moments of grief, even while our loved one is still here. Moments of sorting through treasures that carry a lifetime of memories.
Today was one of those moments.
But mixed in with the sadness was gratitude.
Gratitude that I was blessed to have a mother whose creativity touched so many lives.
Gratitude for the reminders she left behind.
And gratitude for the love woven into every piece she created.
Some souls leave their fingerprints on our hearts forever.
My mom is one of them. ❤️
