Edward Jones-Financial Advisor: Ted Goshorn

Edward Jones-Financial Advisor: Ted Goshorn I'm serving with Edward Jones to together write stories of impact with the resources entrusted to us. The paper wouldn't burn. Life comes with many challenges.

I stood before a congregation, debt report in hand, trying to burn it ceremoniously. With a lighter, I lit each corner in turn, only to see it flame out. Growing increasingly embarrassed, I confessed to the congregation that our printer paper would not burn and then, with show, ripped up the debt report to cheers and applause. The debt report told a story: together, we had raised funds to pay off

the medical debt of our neighbors. That's what I do: I work together with clients and communities to make a lasting impact. When we work together to build a firm financial foundation, we steward well the resources entrusted to us. And when we steward those resources well, like paying off the debt, we tell a new and powerful story. Diagnosis with a rare health condition in 2024 led to many challenges for me and my family, including career change and relocation. Yet, even with all the challenges we faced, finances was not one. Our family's financial advisor stewarded us well so that we could write a different story for our children and the generations to come. That's why I'm serving with Edward Jones: to together write stories of impact with the resources entrusted to us.

Even though 32% of Americans experience are financially stressed and money is a constant source of pressure, 73% are using the internet as a source of financial advice, and largely managing their finances alone. This is where a financial advisor can make a difference. Research shows that financially fulfilled adults are 4.3x more likely to work with a financial advisor compared to financially stressed adults.

If financial stress is something you’re dealing with on your own, you don’t have to. Let’s talk through where you are and where you want to go.

This year has been a reminder that markets can climb even in times of uncertainty. While risks continue to shape the outlook, we believe strong economic momentum supports opportunities across a range of asset classes. Staying diversified and focused on long-term goals remains one of the best ways to navigate an ever-changing market environment.

For professionals thinking long‑term, the real question isn’t just the next role—it’s whether the career can continue to evolve. Growth, ownership, and impact tend to matter more when you’re building something meant to last. If you’re reflecting on that path, a conversation can add clarity.

Can a six-figure income still leave you feeling financially lost?

Our research with Gallup — recently featured in Fortune — found that among Americans earning more than $135,000, nearly 70% still struggle to feel financially fulfilled. Even more striking: 1 in 5 high earners report experiencing significant financial stress.

As a financial advisor, this doesn't surprise me. Income alone doesn't create confidence. What can make a difference is having a clear plan, knowing what matters most to you, and feeling genuinely in control of your financial future.
If any of this resonates, I'd love to start a conversation.

Inflation has trended lower, supporting the case for the Federal Reserve to keep policy rates steady. While the path back to the Fed's inflation target may not be perfectly smooth, strong earnings, healthy economic growth and resilient consumer spending continue to help support market strength.
