We are planning our next series of Sunday afternoon workshops. Stay tuned! There is no workshop scheduled this Sunday, Aug. 21.

Meanwhile, we hope to see you at the Market...

Stop by on Saturday mornings to get your local veggies, fruit, flowers, and hand crafted gifts, or stick around for breakfast, live music, and socializing, children's activities, and workshops.

We are located outside of the Lion's Cafe of the College Center - located on the Bryn Athyn College Campus, right off from Huntingdon Pike (Route 232). Follow the signs from the Pike and you can't miss us!

The Bryn Athyn Bounty Farm Market is run by the Friends of the Bryn Athyn Farm, a nonprofit organization that promotes farm to table education and productive land use by connecting people with nature, and in partnership with Bryn Athyn College and the Bryn Athyn Church.

We'd love to hear from you, especially if you are interested in providing live music, a workshop, a kid-friendly activity, or volunteering at the market.

Do this alone, and you’ll be OK. If you’re good, you’ll be able to fend off a reversion to third world living standards. Do this with a market, however, and you will thrive, with an ever increasing standard of living.

In Bryn Athyn the central line of 'business' has been church & education institutions. What's next...in church/education or diversify into a new line?

Most intentional communities struggle with finances. Members oftentimes show up with a dream, invest large amounts of time and capital, and then find themselves struggling with their balance sheet, and needing to import a steady stream of money in order to keep everything going.

Alt. currencies are entrepreneurial attempts to solve problems with the global system of debt-based government monopoly money. Who will win the competition to serve customers?

Entrepreneur-minded folks of all types are the backbone of true community resilience. It is essential to stay connected to the global exchange of ideas AND products/services. At the same time (and this may seem paradoxical at 1st) it's key that we produce more things locally as that becomes technologically feasible and economically advantageous.

The resilient community movement, like what we see with Transition Towns and a plethora of other efforts, relies on a global network of participants. This network is quickly evolving from narrow peer-to-peer conversations into a vast, diverse, and vibrant ecosystem...

D2 is shorthand for the second global economic depression. It started formally in 2008, and despite a short respite over the last two years, it never left. It was only delayed by massive amounts of government intervention. It is now...

Let's profile your business on this crowd-source visual database (still in pre-launch phase). It's relatively simple. See this example for a local restaurant.

Original recipes with Asian, Italian and Caribbean influences. Creative salads, including choices suitable for vegan and 'raw' diets. Wraps, sandwiches, soups, meal-size salads, an array of hot dishes, and desserts.

I liked this from Patri Friedman:
"During my 4 years at Google, I learned the “dog-food” principle – a product is better if the development team *uses* that product while developing it. We switched to gmail, to google calendar, and other products as soon as they met our bare minimum needs.
The result was that development was informed by practical experience with the product..."

Let's develop our personal resilience, then deepen our community resilience together.

Resilient individuals don't just survive, they thrive. They do well during good times and bad. It doesn't matter what life throws at them. Becoming resilient should be the goal of any sane person in this increasingly crazy world. Unfortunately, it...
