Matthew 14 shares the story of Jesus feeding the five thousand. While we may not have five thousand children, being homeschooling parents often feels like having five thousand daily tasks! The job before us is often daunting, and sometimes discouraging. Emily's devotion at the end of Season 11 is a tender reminder that regardless of how we are closing out this school year, the Good Shepherd cares for us and for our children and can do "far more abundantly more than all that we ask or think" (Ephesians 3:20). To Him be the glory!

What are ways you remind yourself to place your homeschool in Jesus' hands? Comment below!

Similarly to Art Appreciation, Music Appreciation can seem hard to step into because many of us haven't had formal training in playing an instrument, music theory, or music history. But the great news is that, like Artist Study is learning to look, Composer Study is just learning to listen!

What is your favorite composer you have studied with your child(ren)? Did you ever feel "won over" by a style or period you didn't like at first? Comment below!

How do you feel about classical music? Like art, music is a language in itself that conveys thoughts and ideas that words alone cannot. Charlotte Mason recognized this and included musical appreciation in her curriculum as knowledge that was due to all children. Join us in today’s podcast and get inspired to begin your own musical education if you haven't already.

Contrary to more common subjects like History or Math, most of us haven't had formal study in Art or Art History. That can make a subject like Art Appreciation an uncomfortable challenge upfront.

Check out our most recent episode to hear how Picture Study is TRULY just looking and honing the habit of attention. You may be surprised at this opportunity, over time, for a new source of delight in your (and your child's) week!

Children should learn pictures line by line, group by group, by reading not books but pictures themselves, Charlotte Mason writes. At a time when colored reproductions were non-existent, she required each student in her schools to own their own set of art prints. In this episode of the podcast, we're going to discuss how and why to teach art appreciation in the Charlotte Mason Method.
