Waiting on my COI. Day 4.
Gate's open. Then the GC found page 14 of the subcontract: "Subcontractor's liability insurance shall be primary and non-contributory."
In plain English: primary means your policy pays before the other policies. Non-contributory means it doesn't ask them to chip in.
The catch: typing it on the cert doesn't make it so. The ACORD 25 form itself says a certificate "does not affirmatively or negatively amend, extend or alter the coverage." It has to be in the policy, and whether it can be added depends on your policy and carrier.
Has a GC ever flagged "primary and non-contributory" on your cert? Day 5 drops next.
