If you enrolled into a plan with the Marketplace be sure to make that payment binder for your plan to be active. The deadline was extended for multiple carriers to the end of January but if that first payment is not made and your coverage is terminated you will need a true Qualifying Life Event to reinstate coverage and may owe that prior premium.

Be sure to contact your carrier or agent and verify that payment was made and your coverage has been effectuated.

The enrollment period has closed for Georgia Access and Healthcare.gov but were still readily available for our clients.

It’s tax time! For those of you with Marketplace plans, that means you’re looking for the elusive 1095-A form. Your consumer account with Georgia Access (or Healthcare.gov for our non-Georgia clients) should have a notice from January 17th allowing you to download your form.

If you need help accessing your account and we aren’t already your agent, you can click “Find Local Assistance” and type my name in to become your agent of record. We’ll be happy to get that form sent out immediately.

Remember, January 15th is fast approaching and now is the time to make certain your medical providers and prescriptions are covered by your new plan if you’ve made changes. Cheaper does not always mean better. Enlist the help of a licensed agent to help you understand what you may be compromising for a cheaper rate.

While the shutdown is thankfully over, there is still work to be done. The shutdown is essentially for the government to continue funding itself NOT the tax credit situation with the marketplace. While this has no impact on Medicare members, the Marketplace is still a bit haywire with prices for 2026 currently.

We strongly encourage everyone to explore your options with your dedicated agent or, for those who don’t have one, we can take a look for you. Cheaper does not always mean better.
