For all my Real Estate Pros with burning mileage questions, like:

🚘 Does it become business mileage if I take a client call on the way to Whole Foods?

🚘 What ~exactly~ does the IRS want to see recorded in my mileage log?

🚘 Which apps can make mileage tracking basically brainless?

Don't get me wrong, a bank statement is a great start!

But all it really proves is that you spent money... it doesn't tell anyone what you spent that money for or if it truly was a business expense.

The IRS (and me, tbh) usually needs a little more context (like a receipt or invoice) that shares what you bought + that it was for your business.

No, but seriously, pleaseeee don’t make this mistake in your first year as a business owner!

When you’re running your own business, taxes aren’t being withheld for you like they would be when you’re a W-2 employee...

But Uncle Sam still wants his money throughout the year (in the form of your estimated tax payments).

Saving 25-35% of your net income each month helps make sure you’ve got the cash to cover your taxes! 💸

I SEE YOU! 👀

And I've seen this pattern with too many business owners before you to know exactly how it ends: you desperately searching for a bookkeeper before April 15th 2027!

I've laid out the exact steps you need to take to get your bookkeeping caught back up after the summer.

Don't have the time, energy, or desire to do all that?!

The two BIGGEST problems I see when business owners hire a new contractor?

Not getting the contractor's W-9 and not setting up your bookkeeping software to track payments by contractor.

This combo means you're signing yourself up for a ~not-very-fun~ January when 1099s are due...

So please, save this post and refer back to it before you hire your next contractor. 🙏

Sure, I might get a little excited when a business owner comes to me with alllll of those things...

But I also have a pretty big soft spot for the business owners who are still figuring their finances out!

The ones who maaay be charging all their business expenses on their personal credit cards. 🤫

The ones who have been QuickBooks curious but never taken the plunge. 👀

Those are the business owners that need me the most, and I’m more than happy to help! 🫶

Celebrating all of my clients who did the uncomfortable work of diving into their numbers and figuring out a plan to hit their goals!

Things like paying off your debt or hiring a new team member without stressing about how you can afford them don't happen by accident...

It all starts with taking an honest look at your finances!

I want to be your partner in hitting those big, scary goals you've set for 2026. 🤗

I'll let you know your bottom line, where you're spending the most money, and the areas of improvement you have to focus on to run the business you've been dreaming of. 📈

Kiddddddding. Mostly.

You can totally wait until right before Tax Day, but there’s a greater than 0 chance that every good bookkeeper will be fully booked! 🙃

Waiting is basically just expensive, stressful, and totally avoidable!

I’m taking on 2 new clients for bookkeeping clean-ups + monthly bookkeeping this August. Click the link in my bio and fill out my contact form to claim your spot! 🖥️

I know I wasn't the only kid thinking a brand new agenda was going to completely change my academic future...

Buying the latest Lisa Frank may not have been the reason I was the teacher's favorite, but getting the things on the next slide will ~definitely~ make you one of your bookkeeper and tax accountant's favorite clients! 😍
