Belle Prairie Mutual was a first time, proud sponsor of the 2026 McKendree Football Golf Tournament this last Friday, July 24th. The ladies from our New Baden office were happy to greet the golfers, give away some goodies, and spread the word about our merger with Southern Mutual Insurance. Good times were had by all with perfect weather and the golfers seemed very appreciative that Belle Prairie was the drink sponsor for the event as well. Looking forward to continuing our sponsorship for years to come and support the McKendree University sports program.

We guess it's better late then never to announce this, but effective back on January 1, 2025, Belle Prairie Mutual Insurance Company had expanded it's coverage territory to the entire state of Illinois (except Lake & Cook County) through the mergers with Loran Mutual Insurance Company based out of Pearl City, IL up north and Southern Mutual Insurance Company based out of New Baden, IL down south.

We have been happy to welcome our new policyholders and agents through these mergers, and are honored to continue their legacies of superior customer service while providing coverage for home, farm, rentals, and tenant policies.

We have been so busy with the mergers and the numerous storms since early January 2025, that we had not had a chance to make it "Facebook Official". We are also currently working to finalize the details for our new updated website that will reflect the additional coverage territory and agencies, so look for that coming soon.

On Tuesday, our manager, TJ Welte, accepted the “2024 Company Achievement Award” presented by the Illinois Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (IAMIC), which was nominated and voted on by the mutual managers throughout Illinois. It was quite an honor just to be nominated, but pretty amazing to actually win the award. Thank you to all that voted! We promise to continue to do our best to provide excellent coverage and customer service to our policyholders, to ensure them that they are in the right hands!

If the month of June ended today, Belle Prairie Mutual will have seen the largest 3 month (April - June) increase in policy count that we have seen in AT LEAST the last 5 years…all during this crazy time of catastrophic storms! We must be doing something right!
